Everyday insurance made easy

Protect what matters to you.

Beyond health insurance, there are other important ways to protect your life in Germany. Some cover belongs near the top of almost everyone’s list; other policies make sense depending on your home, work, family and plans. Start with the risks that could seriously affect your finances, then choose cover that fits your situation.

COVER FOR LIFE IN GERMANY

Six types worth understanding

These are six of the most common types of insurance people consider in Germany. More specialised insurance is available on request. The cover you need depends on your situation.

Personal liability

Privathaftpflichtversicherung

An everyday accident can leave you responsible for damage to someone else’s property or an injury. Personal liability insurance covers valid claims within the policy and helps defend unjustified ones. It is an important starting point for most people; family cover, rented-property damage and lost keys deserve a closer look.

Household contents

Hausratversicherung

Protect the belongings that make your home yours: furniture, clothing, electronics and more. Household contents insurance typically covers risks such as fire, burglary and certain water damage. It can be valuable if replacing your possessions would strain your savings; bicycles, valuables and natural hazards may need additional cover.

Term life insurance

Risikolebensversicherung

If someone depends on your income, term life insurance can give them financial support if you die during the insured term. It pays an agreed lump sum to the beneficiary, rather than building savings. Particularly relevant for families and shared mortgages, the cover amount and duration should reflect the commitments you leave behind.

Occupational disability

Berufsunfähigkeitsversicherung

Your ability to earn is one of your most important assets. Occupational disability insurance can pay a monthly benefit if illness or injury prevents you from working in your occupation under the policy’s terms. It matters for employees and freelancers alike; your health, occupation and chosen benefit affect availability and price.

Legal expenses insurance

Rechtsschutzversicherung

A disagreement with an employer, landlord or another road user can become expensive. Legal expenses insurance can cover eligible lawyer and court costs in the areas you select. The right policy depends on your needs; waiting periods, deductibles and exclusions apply, and existing disputes are generally not covered.

Vehicle insurance

Kfz-Versicherung

Motor liability insurance is required to register and drive a car in Germany. It covers liability for injury or damage caused to others. Optional partial or comprehensive cover protects your own vehicle against specified risks. Ask how your driving and claims history will be assessed. Choose according to the car’s value, how you use it and what you could afford to replace.

MADE TO FIT YOU

Start with your life, then the policy

Focus on the important risks

Consider what would happen if you caused serious damage, lost your income or left your family without financial support. Then look at your home, vehicle and other commitments. Your priorities should reflect the impact a loss would have on you.

Check what you already have

Existing policies, family arrangements or employer benefits may already provide some protection. A specialist can review the gaps, explain limits and exclusions, and discuss whether your cover still works if your circumstances or country of residence change.

At Unconfuse, we believe the product should fit the person. We listen first, then connect you with a specialist who can help you choose suitable protection.
